The Department of Theology was established in 1997 by admitting tuition-free and paid students in the subfield of Fiqh and Foundations of Islamic Law at B.A level.

Purposes

The objective behind the establishment of this field was training required expert work force in the legal centers of the country, jurists for offices and the Bar Association, legal advisors and attendants for notary publics of marriage and divorce, and training suitable work force for cultural, educational and research centers.

It must be borne in mind that Dr. Asadollah Lotfi was a member of this department for a long time before he moved to the International University of Imam Khomeini. Also Hujjat al-Islam Kamaloddin Razini, the director of the Representative Office of The Supreme Leader in Bu-Ali Sina University, was a member of the department; he passed away in 2009.

The faculty members have authored numerous books and articles in the fields of Fiqh, Quran and Hadith Sciences, Exegesis, Philosophy and Discourse, Theosophy, and Ethics which can be found in the Professors' Portal.

Educational and Cultural Services

Faculty members of the Department of Theology cooperate with men and women's School of Theology (Howzeh Ilmyiah), departments of Law and Islamic Studies, and other educational and cultural institutions including Iran Broadcasting and the Islamic Propagation Organization, etc. in addition to teaching the approved courses of the field. Total number of PhD. students of this department is 8.
